BIANCA GARCIA – Hoof Prints Staff It was a camouflage booth that attracted him. It was a man in camouflage that changed his life. Timothy always had an interest in the military, but it wasn’t until last year that his interest turned into a reality. During his junior year, Sergeant Kelly came to the school and set up a booth full of information about the military. That’s when Timothy made a big decision. Sgt. Kelly went to his house and explained everything to his family. Timothy was soon to join the Arkansas National Guard. The race was the crowd favorite of the day with new events including the snake pit, peanut butter sandwich toss, William Tell and human bowling. This year homecoming has made some major changes that have veered from tradition. So why not go full out and change the whole presentation? I think it’s time to set a new mark and start something new in itself. I think the last thing left of a new beginning for homecoming is that all nine princesses should be eligible to become queen. The classes will still vote for three princesses, but at the end the crown will be up for grabs. It won’t be restricted for just senior princesses. Then she said, “Colby, I have some bad news.” Colby instantly thought that someone in his family had been hurt. “It looks like you can’t attend the regional quiz bowl tournament,” she said. Colby didn’t understand. [...] BIANCA GARCIA – Hoof Prints Staff Vending machines: chips, soda and candy. Cafeteria food: sweets, milk, chips, meat products and fruit. These are the items that are found in these two locations. Some may think that the cafeteria food is much healthier than the vending machines. But is this factual? In my opinion, they are basically the same except one comes out of a machine and the other is served on a tray. So I don’t see a problem in having vending machines at our school. This year at the Crowley’s Ridge Best Robotics competition, BIC was awarded second place in the BEST competition for the first time in four years. Just last year, this was Forrest’s surroundings. Now they changed into goats bleating, taking care of animals and the smell of manure. In those 10 months, are we learning everything to our full potential? The United States used to be ranked first in education, but now we are not even in the top 10. Straight up, I will tell you that Horror in the Hollow deserves a “Yay.” Horror in the Hollow, also known as Pumpkin Hollow in the day, is located at Piggott, Arkansas.
